Absolutely amazing shrimp-oil flavoured soup base ramen!!! I can eat it everyday. I actually went there thrice within a week! According to an English tourist site, this ramen restaurant does not use lard in their ramen which is a traditional ingredient. Their regular bowl looks small but the portion will leave you satisfied. If you r concerned about the sodium content, choose the "tsukemen" version=noodles n soup served separately and u just dip the ramen in the soup to get the taste like zaru-soba. I was disappointed to find it was closed at 6:30pm one night and 10:30pm on another evening. Learned afterwards that they open at 8pm in the evenings. If u show up too early, just go shop around in Ameyoko--where you should visit Niki Confectionary Store仁木菓子 to get ur food souvenirs at great prices in bulk and the nearby 100yen shop which sells unique items that u cannot find at Daiso. And yes, I am a ramen and 100yen store fanatic ; )
